Gemüsering Group

Better. Together.

Interaction and diversity is what sets us apart: Our specialists from the most diverse segments of the fresh produce world enable us to work together to make things happen. Innovative, dynamic and based on partnership, we create ideas and solutions in the Gemüsering Group. Our team works in partnership to unite the interplay between cultivation and marketing - for the food retail trade as well as for the diverse landscape in the catering industry.

Own production

Freshness and quality are the cornerstones of our daily work. Our product range stretches from tomatoes to salads, carrots, cabbage, chicory, herbs, mushrooms, berries and many other products that we grow on our own premises.

Producers

In Germany and Europe, our production partners guarantee the year-round supply of locally produced, high-quality and fresh fruit and vegetables. We attach great importance to close and trusting cooperation as well as long-term partnerships.

Marketing

Our marketing and service companies cover the entire spectrum of the vegetable and fruit trade. We design regional concepts in close collaboration with retailers and producers – on a national level, if desired.

Food service

We deliver fruit and vegetables wherever many people come together with the desire to purchase fresh food. This includes the care sector, airports, canteens, cruise ships, system and community catering, as well as the catering sector in general.

Partners by nature

This is the motto that guides how we work and act: "Whether from our own facilities or grown by our production partners, product quality, freshness and product safety are very important to us. That is why we also love to create regional concepts and partnerships. A trusting, long-term, and committed collaboration among ourselves, with our customers, and with all our partners forms the solid foundation of our corporate culture."

FLOWERING STRPS

Gemüsering supports its production and farming businesses in establishing flower-rich areas to promote biodiversity. These areas create habitats and food sources, particularly for insects. Starting with 14.3 hectares of flowering areas in Germany in 2018, the programme has been expanded to 103 hectares across Germany and Europe by 2024. Further growth to 200 hectares is planned by 2030.

RHEINLANDGEMÜSE HYDRO

Hydroponically grown lettuces – meaning premium, regional lettuces with a longer shelf life, available all year round. Thanks to the closed production system, water remains within the production cycle – saving around 70 per cent of water compared with outdoor production. There is no leaching of nutrients into the soil. Climate control in the production facility reduces the risk of fungal and pest infestations. A concept that has become reality: Rheinlandgemüse Hydro GmbH has been producing hydroponic lettuces in its state-of-the-art greenhouse facility since the winter of 2022.

BUILDING ON OUR HERB COMPETENCIES

Our herb specialist, Dreesen Frische Kräuter in Bornheim, forms the heart of our comprehensive expertise in herbs. We have specifically expanded this expertise through a strategically developed network of herb production and packaging facilities in Germany and Morocco. As a result, we offer a wide range of potted and cut herbs, as well as cress, all year round – including organic varieties. At the same time, we guarantee the best possible freshness and can flexibly implement regional concepts.

Expanding Organic Partnerships

Gemüsering has been certified organic for almost 20 years and is continually expanding its commitment to organic farming. The aim is to increase the proportion of organic turnover to 20 per cent by 2026 and to 25 per cent by 2030. In parallel, the company plans to convert 100 hectares of its own production land to organic farming by 2030. It offers products that meet the Demeter, Naturland, Bioland and EU Organic standards – depending on the requirements of its customers and partners. Close collaboration with a broad network of local producers forms the basis for ensuring organic quality that is regional, traceable and scalable.
